Dwayne Bergmann Interiors has won a first-place national award for the best kitchen design in the state of Florida, announced the principal conceptual artist and designer who bears the name of the five-plus-year-old, Fort Myers-based company.

My vision has always been to mix a touch of Frank Lloyd Wright with a little Old Florida, in an eclectic mid-century-modern manner. The house will eventually reach this vision as the boys (Dwayne is a father of twin boys) get a little older and I can incorporate more decor.

The 20-year-old Ronald McDonald house located in south Fort Myers serves as a home for families of hospitalized children and was in need of a major upgrade.
